Connection Speed Settings in BbC

Hi,

Has anyone any advice on what connection speeds work best with each of the options available:

  • LAN
  • Cable/DSL
  • Wireless (300 Kbps)
  • ISDN
  • 56 Kbps Dialup
  • 33.6 Kbps Dialup
  • 28.8 Kbps Dialup

And if it's the download speed or upload speed values that should be used to determine which option to select?

I suppose what I'm wondering is what options to recommended based on users connection speeds? For example, what option would you recommend to a user with 3.1 Mbps Download and 0.45 Mbps Upload?

And what impact selecting lower/higher speeds has on the user experience?

    I recommend to set to Wireless first, no matter how your environment is connected.to the public network.

    I f you obsererve limitations during bandwidth consuming tasks (app sharing, webcam,   ), you may advise students to upgrade manually. Tak care of the warning lights in the participants list to get a feeling, if this upgrade is a good idea for all.
