As the project manager of HACEY (Health Actions Concerning the Environment and You) a Non Governmental Organization that trains, informs and educate women and young people on issues related to health, environment and human capacity development, I am responsible for the design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the organization’s projects/programmes and also responsible for the management of the organization’s over 300 volunteers. I’m energetic, an ardent reader, result-oriented, multi-skilled and innovative team player, my ability to handle complex numerical and analytical challenges is evident in the result I have achieved in development initiatives at national and international level. I have previously collaborated with the National Directorate of Employment and Ministry of Women affairs in Nigeria to train women and young people on business resource in environmental waste management, information communication technology and interior decoration, I facilitate and oversee 43 focus groups for young people in and out of school to empower them to take the lead in tackling major social problems such as HIV/AIDS, unemployment and environmental sustainability; I have organized campaigns, awareness programmes and conferences to enhance the response of the society to issues such as HIV/AIDS, malaria, unemployment and environmental sustainability, and also I have volunteered for one year as the Editor-in-Chief of UNICEF peer education trainer during this period I was able to actively develop my skills in facilitation, reporting and public speaking. As a trained researcher, counselor and Peer Education Trainer, I have enhanced my capacity in monitoring and evaluation, planning and designing programmes through practical experience, acquiring knowledge from experts at local and international level after attending conferences/ training programmes in Japan, Turkey and Brazil and also my ability to use up-to-date data analysis software such as SPSS 15 and proficiency in Microsoft office packages such as MS Excel, MS power point and MS Word. I was a member of the monitoring and evaluation team to the 5th world youth congress in Istanbul, Turkey; the experience was an opportunity for me to acquire knowledge on monitoring and evaluation, data quality and data analysis from world bank expert, also after participating in training on social entrepreneurship in Santos, Brazil I was able to work with a rural community and during this period I acquired skills in creating and generating structures and processes that welcome diversity, and also mobilizing and stimulating people to act collectively, in a way that generates concrete, possible, and sustainable transformation.
